Laura rushed to her chambers and grabbed out a few items from her closet. She stuffed some medical things into her sack and then tied it quickly and exited going back to Hama.

When Laura entered, Hama was sitting on her bed staring out the window. Laura sat next to her. hama looked exausted, her spurt of energy that Laura had seen before seemed gone. Next to Hama was a large bag. Looking up Hama sighed. "Okay. I have this feeling, if that's what you can call it. Like something's going to happen; something bad. Maybe like a natural disaster? but probably not. I think the Normans are planning an attack, but it's just a feeling. And that man, what did he want with me? Was he to kidnap me, or perhaps kill me?" Hama asked out in general, her thoughts being spilled across the room. "a mage reported back to me on what the substance was. It was...unicorn magic...can you believe that? Why would they give it to a man like that? They only graced their gifts upon those who they thought could use it for, well something not like that!!!" Hama cried. "The Council has authorized a cleaning of the city; meaning they're locking all people in their homes. I hear they're going to make every person in the city take some sort of potion..." "But there's so many people!" Laura broke in. "Yes, so they're only using a drop. Drop it onto the back of your hand and all magic is striped away from you. This is only a small dose, so it'd last for about a minute. It's meant for the prisoners and stuff, but they're doing something to make it also effect unicorn magic. If there's other out there in the city, they'd be exposed for sure. Any person found out on the streets past 4 is taken to the Blocks... We'll wait. If anything happens meet me by the secret wall. Okay?"

Laura looked to the window. "Hama... I have had the same feeling. Don't you think we should warn the others? They could all just-" She got cut off. "And what? Why would they believe such silly ideas?" Hama said quickly. Laura looked back. "It was only a suggestion..." She started back to her room but halted at the doorway. "We can use the Oak by my balcony to escape into the forests... If need be."

"No, remember the abonded tunnel used by the smugglers? It's closed and concealed now, forgotten, but I have been working a while and have managed to re-open it. Meet me there. You remember, right?" Hama said. Laura nodded. "yeah, only if an emergency--" a knock on the door silenced them .They shoved their bags under the bed and Hama opened the door. "Mistress Hama, sorry to disturb you, but by order of the Council, every one is to undergo this. Give me your hand." Hama gave the man her hand. He dropped a dark liquid onto it. Nothing happened. He did the same to Laura. "Thanks to both of you. Have a nice day.The lockdown should continue until all have been checked. Thanks again." and he left as quickly as he'd come. Laura looked at Hama. "Told you." Hama said. and they stood up and left the room, quietly, secretly.

The Norman lord looked disapointed to Vempre and he brought his mouth closer to the boys ear." A human from the city?" He wispered. Vempre nodded, he looked past Rave. "Haven't we told you!" The Norman said a bit louder and grabbed Vempre's arm. "Yes, you have! But I just trust her, she's not a spy!" Vempre snarled. The Norman letted go of Vempre and turned to the girl." Why whould they send you all alone to the forest, seems a little strange!"

Josha had allready reached the castle but the entering seemed to be closed and the streets there were empty, so were other streets. He looked around, watching every guard from his hiding place along side the wall of the castle. A few man dressed in white came out of the fortress by the eastern wall, they walked into the houses and came out in a minute, just to walk into the next house. What is going on? Josha thought, he looked at the small green bottles that the Elves took with them." Magic stoppers." He wispered. Why would they have magic stoppers with them? Time to leave, else I'll be next! Josha looked up, up the long wall, at this time the skills he had learned in the forest were of a use. He jumped up, grabbed single out sticking stones and climb up the wall. it was harder than he thought because next to climbing up he also had to look down if the guards didn't notice him. Josha felt his own cape getting in the way as he went to the left to reach a window. He jumped up, setting off his feet to the wall and tryed to grab the seling of the window. his first hand missed, but his second got a grib on a stone that stuck out. Using his strong muscular arms he was able to drag himself up and climb into the room. He looked up, right in the eyes of a young elf with emerald green eyes and redish blond hair. (( hint, hint, Darkness song ))

Laura sat against her bed when she heard him jump to the balcony. She rose and looked at him in shock. She had no idea what to do or what to think. A single trace of thought raced through her mind. she put her hand behind her back and grasped the small knife she had took. She backed up towards a wall and stared at the man as he stood on the balcony. She knew he looked like an elf but something told her otherwise.

"Easy, easy!" Josha said, he came forward. the girl wasn't planning to put the knife down so he chose for a faster way. In a fraction of a second he set his foot towards her, making one simple move with his hand as he took the knife from her." I need to speak to some one in charge!" He said, I just had to jump into a room with someone in it! his mind said to him."I'm not here to do any harm, I swear!" Josha putted the knife behind his back and straithend his back. He was much bigger than the girl, who didn't seems like someone who could do much harm.

Hama stared at the picture on her shelf. Her parents. Tears fell down her face. Why? she though. A seething anger bursted open in her chest again; a raw pain. Grabbing her bag, she planned to get Laura and take their bags to the cave and store them there for safty and just in case they had to live quickly and quietly. Stuffing the pictures into her bag she stood. She walked down the hall. Hama's door was closed, but Laura had the key into her room just as Laura had her's. Entering she saw a strange elf pinning Laura to her bed. She gave a short cry, and swept into action. She lept to the bed and threw a hand, numerous sharp daggers flew out. The elf droped down, but not before one of them clipped his arm. He raised his hands as the universal sign for "no harm meant." Laura was still in slight shock, and she raised herself up and watched Hama apprach, a long dagger pulled from her sleve. Hama was skilled in the arts of the blade. She kept many concealed on her at all times. She closed the door behind her, and locked door. Laura saw this and locked her window; the entire room locked. Hama's eyes flashed brightly. "Why are you here?" she asked, cautious, icy. "I mean no harm!" he said, pressing a hand to his wound. Hama smiled, her smile as thin as razor. "We need more of an explaination than that." she snapped.

"I'm here to bring news... About the Normans!" Josha said, he felt the hot blood falling down his arm."I need to speak to the one in charge, it's urgent!" He whispered, he didn't look at the girls anymore, his eyes were on the dagger. He needed to get it out, he grabbed the lemmet and took the dagger out. The wound was now open, and it hurted more than first. Josha made a soft crie, it damn hurted.

Laura back against the wall and stood there away from all the fightning that might take place. She hid her cowerdice from Hama and glanced to her. 'How can she be so brave... Obviously this elf is not elven. Yet she took him on to save me.' Laura looked took a step foward taking a gulp. She walked up to the elf and stared at him. "If you leave here you will only be killed by the guards. We are on a lockdown, We couldn't help you either way."

"Damn!" Josha yelled, his eyes started to cry again. Again like it always went as things didn't go as planned."I need to warn everyone! nobody is save or will be spared as the Normans come, they to know!" He was more talking to himself than the ones around him."I need to stop them, I need to stop this useless war!" He felt so angry at himself, even if it wasn't his fault. why can't the war stop? why doesn't anyone see the way out? Why always revenge? He fell to the wall, having a huge headaque.

Laura nearly fell backwards as he talked about the Normans. "Are they comming here?" She was stunned and was hoping for him to say no. But it was too obvious that he would say yes.

Hama glanced out the window. She wasn't exactly sure, but she still needed to alert the Council. Since she was of high standing, she'd be able to send word, but with him in the room...He'd need to hide. "I'll give you benifit of the doubt. Go and stand behind that wardrobe...." he ddin't move. "NOW!" she snapped. He concealed himself there. Hama rang for a messenger, the only people allowed out at this time. "Give word to the Council. There's going to be an attack, I don't know how soon, but soon, by the Normans. They're probably camped in the woods... And be quick about it!" He sprinted off down the hallway. Hama knew they'd be suspicous, but she couldn't wait; if what this man was saying was true, then they'd need everyone to get away. Josha came out from where he was hidden. Hama turned to him. "How do you know this? We've done the best we can. Do you think we can keep hold and stand guard and fight them off. Do you know their numbers?" she asked. Before he could respond, the messenger came back. "Miss Hama? The Council would like to see you." Hama looked at Laura. They both knew what this meant. They Council didn't think Hama was telling the truth, that they were lying. "I'll report to them momentarily." the messenger dissappered again. "What are we going to do?" she asked, her eyes worried. "I have a plan, but it takes all of your cooperation, human," she said. "I know that's what you are. How you've made yourself an elf, I don't exactly know..."(sry, just taking over a little...><) He nodded. "anyway, I believe you might be able to remove the concealing magic? Laura and I would "take you prisoner" to the Council. You tell them all you know, how many men there are, when they'll attack, ect, and they're bound to believe you. We need evidence." "Sounds good." Josha said, then he realized something. "What will they do to me? I mean once I'm done...?" Hama paused. "I don't know. I can make sure they don't kill you, but, well, um. " she faultered. "I can't ensure anything. We'll have to see how it goes. You said you wanted to aleart someone, this is the only way..."

((Hey Kyana, I've allready writen something from Vempre!! )) Josha looked down, he knew this was the only way, but was he willing to maybe give his life for it. Just to save those who had once killed his whole family. Am I able to help them, even if I tell about the Normans, would they listen? would they flee? would they stand and fight?" I'll do it!" He closed his eyes and brought both his hands to his stomach, he gasped for air ones. His body started to change again, his ears went back to normal lenght, his skin got darker. Only his hair stayed light as he had changed the color with water. He looked human again. He grabbed his cape and broke one part off, he tried to bound it around his arm to stop the bleeding. Hamma came to him, she helped him and then bound his hands in front of his body tight together.

(where, I just checked, the last entry, I responded to... ) She thought about cleaning and wrapping the wound, but it might bring suspision. So she put an herb in it to ease the blood flow. Laura got up with Hama. Hama took a deep breath. "Okay, listen, you're to act as our prisoner. I'll talk and you add in what need to go. I or Laura can not have any link to this meeting..." The creak of the large oak doors sounded like a cannon's boom as they opened. Hama roughly shoved Josha into the room infront of her, her eyes an icy steel. He stood there, looking down. She pushed him down to his knees. He fell, then quickly got to a kneeling position. "Mistree Hama Laci, what have you brought us?" said the head council leader. Hama breifly looked at the empty seat where her father had sat only a day ago. She shoved away that thought and set her eyes upon the man at center. "A capturerd human..." she said, her voice tinted with resentment. Josha shivered. She souneded so real, like she wasn't kidding. What if she betrayed him? He tried not to think about what might happen and only listened, staring at the flor. Hama continued. "Laura and I were out on the balcony, when he dropped in. We were able to knock him unconcious and bind him." The tall elf raised himself to get a better look. "Oh? Why did you not alert someone?" he asked, susicion written all over his face. "Because, it was lock down. As well as the fact that since he entered my room without consent, that I have every right to kill him or do as I wish." Hama said, standing straight. "Or do you wish to disagree?" He sat back in his chair. "Why bring him here now?" "From what I heard he has information. Laura was able to force it out of him, and he agreed, on the price of his life, that he'd give all knowledge up to the all deserving Council." Hama said, glancing down at Josha. "Okay, human, tell us everything, as your life very well depends on it..."

Laura stood well to the side. She despised being outside the house. She could only hope that she get back home before the attack started.

(more somewhere on the beginning of the page!!)) josha took a deep breath. am I really going to do this? am I really going to betray me own kind? am I going to save the Elves, who have killed my whole family? His proud hadn't yet agreed with his plan. he had to do it, he wanted to stop the war." The Normans are attacking soon, their forces are much to powerful for the forces inside here. They are leaded by lord Sudriel." Josha couldn't help it to spit out that one particular name, he hated the Norman lord for all he had done." An army of 20,000 men ((That's a lot )) 2,000 free humans, 5,000 calvarie, 3,000 infantrie, 100 catapults and 35 rams. You'll need a miricle to defeet such an army." he felt like he was telling a mathsum, all the numbers which he had kept in mind." they will arive the day after tomorrow, that won't give Kaner city enough time to ask and get reinforcements from Mironeo." Josha sighed, he had really betrayed his own people now, hoping that it was for the best.
