(So long as the creature is not godmodded then sure. This world is full of dark secrets n such.)
Hailut looked up as they flew. "How rude..." He jumped upon Horrion and they both took off after the younger pair. Horrion blew a billow of smoke as he coughed. Do you not think racing after then would be a good idea? I mean they are heading orth anyways so it might be a better idea to keep low. Plus we do not even know them. Hailut looked ahead slightly frustrated since he just met a new rider then sighed. You are right... If they should have billista fortifications we would be dead... Even my ward would not stop those. Horrion gently inclined. They look like they are heading back towards the elves. May this be a good time to report to your friend. He would of missed you by now, Gone a hundred years and he might think your dead. It was only seventy years since I fled there... The forsworn would stop at nothing until we were all dead... You know- his thought cut off since they had shared the same regret for so long. Their thoughts mingled in an incoherent way both of them arguing their thoughts until they both knew the victor. Then if you insist let us go and see Alvashar. Horrion took a steep climb to catch the jetstream and then proceeded north. Hailut took out a small bowl and put some water into it then began to scry Alvashar. He was just north along with the rest of the army of the Elves. Their new found rider was also seeming to head the same way. Follow that rider... We shall meet our friend there.
Alvashar took up his long wooden cane and proceeded with a limp outside the tent. He was immortal but never unstoppable. Injuries would soon accumilate over the years and he too would die with his people. But he was needed with or without the limp and ache of his leg. He walked towards the center tent to where the wounded gathered. Though they were strong with healers not many could fix the wounded much like Alvashar. He knew many spells and many herbs of which to use. He opened the flap and took a look inside. Many stayed still throughtout their wounds, but few still pulsed with pain. He would tend to these first. He walked upon the first where a new healer tried to keep the man's blood from the wound to keep him alive. Alvashar took hold of the healer's magic and then used it to seal the wound. He said simple magic words to treat the wound so that the man could stay still for the rest. He took the man's arm and then began to sing slight enchantments upon the skin so where the deep scar was began to clow and then it began to rejuvinate. He looked to the man and spoke in the Ancient's Tongue. "Your wound will now aid you. When pain strikes your wound will keep that pain from reaching you until you are out of mortal danger." He stood back up after completing his enchanted ward and proceeded to the next man. Several hours passed as he healed one by one the most serious wounds then let the lesser healers take hold. Then he exited the tent leaning heavily upon his staff so he would not fall. A day's healing takes the strength from his now weakened form. He is too young to be so fragile but he had seen war and he had faught it back one hundred years ago... But it was no time for a memory he must be going to the queen. The rider was about to return and he had sensed someone scrying him. But it could not be. The man he thought of died by the four Forsworn that followed him. No way was he able to defeat them without getting killed himself....

Arya, they're following us. Should we strengthen our wards? Leithan asked. I've already done so as soon as I felt them. Let us speed our flight. I'm uncomfortable with them so close, Arya thought. What about direction. We might be leading them straight to the elves stronghold. That could be a dangerous move. I know. I'll contact the queen.
Morning came at last. Sive smiled. He hadn't rested at all last night. He'd been working. Now it was time to see if it'd worked. While the men packed up camp, he had hiked to the lookout. A large cliff that pointed out over the valley. Closing his eyes he started to murmur. It wasn't the ancient language, nor was it the common tongue. He could feel giant gusts of wind, and he smiled even more, but he sill didn't open his eyes. When he felt the ground shake as if thunder had erupted from the earth he lowered his hands and opened his eyes. Standing before him was a creature almost as ancient as the dragons. It was a cousin of the dragons, lathbarka. It was black, like the night with silver talons and spikes. It wasn't as broad or as tall as it's old cousins, but it was thin, sleek, with a sharp barbed tail. It was more efficient on land than a dragon, with its longer legs as well with wings that could fold close the body. It could run, as well as fly. It's flying endurance wasn't close to that of a dragon, but it's small, sleek shape made it fast and lethal. Lathbarka are rare, and were thought extinct, even before the Fall, but only Shades knew the dark arts of creating one. They weren't born out of an egg, but they were born from the dark fires of the soul. Despite his great weakness now, Sive smiled at his achievement. It had taken him so many years of study to birth a Lathbarka. Names are so important too, but he knew what to call her. Andlarta. It meant “heart of death” Andlat was death, while hjarta meant heart. Combining them made the word even stronger. He felt something bloom in his chest.… it took a moment for Sive to name it: love. What was this? No he loved nothing, only the pain of others, but while he denied this, he felt a part of himself attach to Andlarta. This was an unexpected drawback. What is wrong? a voice asked. Sive shook his head. What was going on? All of this, it was all unexpected! What is wrong? the voice asked again. Wait. Dragons were supposed to have a strong mental connection to their riders. Was this all apart of it? But a Lathbarka wasn’t a dragon, but perhaps they were close enough that some of the traits were shared. Nothing…. Sive thought back. He wasn’t sure if he should be angry or happy.

Horrion sped his flight twice as fast as usual. Then billowed out smoke and shook his massive head. Then slowly descended billowing smoke out in coughs. Horrion! What is wrong? Hailut melded his mind with Horrions to notice something had been created. They had felt it before with Draka's creation and disappearence, Now it was something even stronger. Horrion shook his head and took into the skies again. You know what is happening. Though I do not know for sure. All that I truely know is that it will one-day be upon one of our riders. Thanks for being so discriptive. One of the what... Five riders is it now? Well If it were to go to Galbartorix I would have no problem. Or Thorn the new Forsworn... But It will nonetheless go against us I presume... I think Eragon can hold his own but Arya may not be so... Horrion flew into the jet stream and glided through it for at least an hour quickly catching up between the distance of the smaller more nible and agile dragon Leithan.
Alvashar walked into the command tent. The Queen was there for the time being now since they set up a more permanent residence for her. The defenses were highly fortified so not even Galbatorix himself could enter. Though it would be rare if he had left his city... But since he never did these fortifications would be good. Alvashar bowed putting two fingers to his lips and speaking the traditional greeting. Then he sat upon a chair around the table where the Queen had sat. He put his staff aside and looked at the Mirror on the wall. "It would seem we have an unwelcome rider..." The Queen spoke in the ancient tongue. She looked at Alvashar then back to the mirror. "Thorn?" Alvashar said with a slight regret. "And Murtagh is isn't it?" He looked at the mirror and though it was very fogged by where they were scrying the glitter of scales in the cloud gave away the presence of a dragon. "Arm the Ballista... If it is the Forsworn Thorn and Murtagh then we must kill them immediately. They already taken one rider and Arya is quickly approaching. They will be here before sundown."

( I'm going to post now ^^ Tell me if anything is wrong.. I haven't read the last book and it has been a year ago since I read the second one )
Terek fell down, exhausted. His heart were pumping blood faster out of the effort he put into the new spell. Terek, please, rest! Aura whispered. "No, I have to control this before my uncle gets back!" Terek snapped, out loud. He's not your uncle, Terek. Aura whispered sadly. "How do you know!?" Terek stood up, shaking on his legs. Using spells without words was hard, and it took time, something he didn't want to spill.

Sive looked at Andlarta. Beautiful. he thought. Thank you... Andlarta responded, startling Sive. He could hear her chuckling. "This is going to take some getting used to. Andlarta, you know what is needed, I presume." Of course. My becoming was brought forth by you. I know everything that you know hence forth. excellent. Lets us go then. We have a long flight.
Arya couldn't rest, like she'd have done. She was still too uneasy with the appearance of the other dragon. Rest, Arya... I'll wake you if there's a problem. No. It's safter to have two pairs of ears and eyes, Arya said back with a yawn. We'll fly through the night. I want to be past the dessert by dawn.
Sive landed infront of the camp. He was furious. They soldiers had shot at them as they landed. Stupid Humans. Sive had easily been about to deflect the arrows, but it still irritated him. He jumped down. They'd stopped as soon as they saw who it was. "Sir, I had no knowledge of you..." the commander started. "Oh? Well I'm sorry. Yes, and do you know of any black dragon? No. Say it was Thorn? Would've fired? No. One more step out of line and I'll feed you to my lathbarka..." Sive growled. He could smell the man's fear, which only encouraged him. "Trust me. It won't be pleasant." Sive paused, as Andlarta came up besides him, her dark eyes penetrating. Tell them I will keep them alive as long as possible, allowing a slow and tourturous death... she added, with a smile. Of course Sive said.

Horrion yawned and blew a small flame. Maybe we should rest Hailut. These new ones seem to keep going but they are unwise. Hailut looked around and then nodded. Land in that thicket right there. [/] Hailut showed a picture of the small thicket around a muddy almost dried out pool of water in the desert. Must have come from travelers before-hand who drew up the water... Horrion spun and fell quickly then evened out and landed this time softly upon the sand. The sun drew quickly across the sky and was only an hour before sunset. Horrion circled the entire pond with his body as he curled up. He lifted his wing out and covered the area making a tent. Hailut went inside and drew out all the water he could and then drank some and the rest levitated into Horrion's mouth. After their fill they both rested and went into the dream world.

I think they're bedding down. I sense them sleeping, Leithan commented. Rest, little one. Arya wanted to say no but her stubborness had been softened with exaustion. Fine.
Sive had never flown before and the feeling was intoxicating for the first time. They'd disgussed a numerous things. Sive felt so young suddenly. He'd was old enough to have seen empires rise and fall. He'd been with the rise, but never the fall. His knowlege of Lathbarka was so scant and thin tha he wondered what else he thought he knew and didn't. \ The world is vast and deep. Like a bowl of knowledge that is forever deep. One can only drink so much at a time, no matter how much time they may have, Andlarta commented, reading Sive's thoughts. I agree, but I want to know. You seem to know much about me, and it seems that I know little about you. Andlarta smiled. They had many miles to fly and Andlarta seemed anything but tired. Somewhat like dragons, we aquire all the knowledge of our history and life through the minds of all other lathbarka. It's a little more complicated than that, but basically those who came before us give the newer generations their knowledge. When a lathbarka is dying, they can make a choice, very much like a dragon does with their Heart of Hearts to release their knowledge so that the next generation will be born with it. It's not as damning as a Heart of Hearts can be though. It's nothing physical. My knowledge that I have has not only come from a part of you, but from all my ancestors... It will take many years for me to sort out everything. You do not want to be in my head right now... Sive almost laughed at this. Lathbarka can't physically reproduce, as I've known, but why? It's said in the ancient texts that you were cursed. Cursed. I guess that's a good way of putting it. We came to being before the dragons. It's believed that the dragons came from us.... Sive could sense her mood darken, her thoughts smug. But as they grew stronger, we weakened and shrank in number. There was a great war. It was our last attempt to revive our dying race. Many were lost on both sides. We were more sucessful than what we thought and we dealt the dragons a painful blow. It seemed that we might even have a chance at winning... but the dragons gathered and that night they set a curse on us. From that point on, we could not reproduce. Our numbers quickly fell. But dragons aren't the only creatures that know magic, as I said they come from our kind supposedly. We couldn't reverse their curse, but we couldn't do anything. Shades are closer to us in magic than you know. We made an alliance so that they would have the ability to create a lathbark from ashes and their magic, which is like ours. See? Andlarta turned her head to look at Sive. He sat there, thinking. This is good to know. Thank you for telling me. I can tell that there is much more to know, but let it continue another night. I want to rest. Perhaps I can gather information from the riders... Sive thought. What unnerved him was that he'd said "thank you". He never said that. Was this eternal attachment to Andlarta a good thing? It seemed good. But it had changed him. As he knew before, he loved no one. To love was to be weak, but he was not weak. These thoughts would trouble him in his rest. Thank the stars that he needed minimal rest.

Hours quickly passed and the moon soon took to the sky. Horrion rose his head and then nudged Hailut. Without even opening his eyes Hailut climbed onto the back of Horrion and they took to the sky. The new riders would be at the camp by midnight and they should keep a fast pace now that they were well rested enough to do so. They kept their thoughts intertwined and kept that way wordlessly communicating through their thoughts.
Alvashar walked back to his tent, he would be notified soon that the new rider would return by midnight which was an hour away. He needed to gather a few items to make sure that if the rider or dragon was hurt he could heal them... Plus he had a little suspicion that soon they would be attacked by another rider...

(Darkness Song, which "new rider" are you talking about? Arya or Hailut? Oh, and I never posted a history on them. When I have more time I'll do so, but Arya became a rider very young. She's been a rider for a lot more years than Eragon has. ^_^ She may seem young, but she's actually very experienced. I'll have to post more on her bio... >.> Anyway, I'll post later. sry)

There! Arya opened her eyes. She saw what Leithan sent her, the image in her mind clear and bright. They were still miles off, and what Leithan saw was so much more distanct than what her eyes could produce. Excellent. Lets go. Soon they'd be home and she could report personally to the queen.
Sive and Andlarta flew up a head. It had been only an hour and already they were leagues a head of the group. Sive had sent the group back, in irritation. Stupid humans. Andlarta was eager and restless, as was Sive. She flew, dove and spun, and they practiced thousands of feet up in the air. It feels like I've been a rider for my entire life! Sive commented after another trecherous dive. Of course. We are closer than a dragon and rider are. Dragons and their riders were born differently. Their magic wasn't the same. Many times a dragon is what makes the magician. Like Eragon. He was a human, now he's a rider. Human rarely have magic. Saphria created what he is. But no, for us, our magic is near the same. Actually I think it is the same. And in this, there is a stronger bond and nature. Andlarta told Sive. "Let's see how well our new disguises work," Sive said, enhaling. His eyes flashed, looking like obsidian. Sive was a master of disguse. He could bend his magic, like a smith metal. He decided to make them look like Eragon and Sahpria. Andlarta's size didn't matter either.

Horrion quickly flapped until they saw the small shimmer of the scales of Leithan. They had gained much more distance then the others had but they were still a few hours away. It would take time but they had that upon their side. Do you feel that? A tingle in the air... We must be getting close to the camps. I can feel the magical waves begining. Horrion had known magic since he was a hatchling and may times before that within his egg hidden. But now old age made him wiser to the small trickle of magic that came from all creatures. Many do not know that there is magic inside of them. But only few can grasp this trickle and turn feed it like a candle until it becomes a real fire... I do... It seems like we only have another few hours... Do you think you can handle the flight? He mused within his head. Things had been so tight with them ever since these young ones came around... It seemed to spark both their moods to make a joke. Ohh I do not think I can flap anymore... With that Horrion tucked his wings in and dropped like a stone. Not even bothering with any areial manuevers. Hailut began to fly off of Horrion. Hailut let out a cry before pulling himself upon Horrion. Okay... Can we please just go back up now? Horrion let out a small puff of fire and then drew out his wings and dived before ascending back up. All the while chuckling inside his massive skull. You know you can trust me... I do know but still... I am naturally scared of dying... Hailut mused again. Why? You have me nothing should bother you besides Galbartorix. Soon it would seem even he will fall... Eragon does his work well and I ahve to say, the stories of Saphira... Horrion did not need to say his feeling for they showed clearly inside his head. Someone has a crush... Isn't she young for you? Hailut mused and laughed. Not in dragon's terms.... Horrion countered.

Terek hated waiting, he was lazy, but still couldn't take waiting. Aura sat next to him, looking over the city, if just they could leave." Can we go yet?" He asked, inpatience. Aura shook her head, they had been sitting there since someone of the guards told them to wait for a star to fall and then fly to the front line, to fight. But it was strange, since Galbatorix had always told them they weren't ready, to weak, not strong enouhg. Deep inside it hurted, but they both knew he was right. Their magic was strong, but they still couldn't work together. "Why do they need us on the battle front, they have that magician right, we're not even ready!" Terek said, bored, he broke of some little stones, using an easy spell, and then threw them off the building." Who says there is going to be a fallen star, if you ask me it's just bull shit! I guess they think we're useless." [/i]Control your anger, we should just wait. If they don't come we can also just leave.[/i] Aura whispered, laying her gaint wings behind Terek. She was kind of a small dragon, if you would compare her with Galbatorix' dragon. Both of them had never seen an other dragon and rider besides their master, but they had heard that they still existed. "I excually don't want to fight other riders." Terek whispered, maybe it was just because he was lazy, or that he wanted to say something, but he didn't feel like fighting. He could die, he didn't have much experience with fighting. Only the sword lessons he could remember, but that's what you get when you're a rich kid.

Just as Sive was about to land, he felt someone pushing at his mind. He threw walls up immeditally, reaching out to crush the intruder. But then he recognized who it was and released immeditally. Sive...We need to speak. Immeditally. Then the voice faded away. Andlarts looked at him, worry clouding over her thoughts. Galbatrox... she thought. As if he didn't know. She moved very fast. Sived wanted to find a good private pace to speak with Galbatrox. They landed among a protected clearing. Sive immeditally drew up water. Murmering, he told Andlarta to get away, so he wouldn't see her. He didn't want Galbatrox to see her just yet. Perhaps in the future, but not now. Galbatrox's image came into focus. "Ah. Okay. I hope I'm not interupting any personal agendas?" he said, smiling cruely. "No, my lord," Sive said, when he secretly cursed this interuption. "What news have you? Or have you forgotten to do your usual reports back to me?" "I'm sorry my lord. I was very busy and I forgot. My apologies." "Very well. So?" "I, er, suspect that there's a new rider. Arya and Leithan." "WHAT!?!?" Sive flinched. It wasn't that he was scared, it was that Galbatrox's voice could sound so annoying. "Yes. And there's more. There is the apperance of an olde dragon and rider. Hailut and Horrion." "So, they didn't die..." Sive waited for galbatrox to continue. "I have two young riders at my side, but Terek is so young and inexperienced... There's now Eragon, this 'Arya' and Hailut... But no matter. They will all fall to my power and join me or suffer! Good. What I also wanted to say was that you are needed. We're fighting the Varden. Get over there. I need your support there. (it's the fight that Terek and Aura are at ;D)

Hailut dazed in and out of sleep he blended his thoughts with Horrion so they both may be at rest. When one mind slep the other took over the two of them... It was very strange and difficult to master this but they in their solitary time had done so. This way no words were needed they were as many would say. One...
Alvashar woke up and rushed out his tent at a fast limp. The whispers soon drew into a quiet roar as a shimmer appeared into the sky. It was Arya and Leithan, they had returned from their scouting trip. Alvashar quickly drew a wuick pace to where they would land. Most of the elves had waited to get just one glimpse. They had all seen a female dragon and most of the newer ones had never seen a dragon before so they gathered and waited. Arya and Leithan came into view as Leithan dropped and began to circle. He landed with a loud thud and then lowered Arya off. Alvashar walked to them and quickly examined for wounds. Then he delivered his message. "It seems that you two had came back in one peice..." He spoke to them in the Ancient. "The queen would like to discuss something of the utmost importance about your scouting very soon. It seems Thorn was right behind you and she needs to know what his intensions were..."

Arya felt herself bristle a little at Alvashar's always close inspection. It could be so annoying! But she held her tounge. So it wasn't the other dragon that we sense? It was Thorn? Leithan asked her. I don't know. That's what we assumed. It didn't feel like Thorn. But we'll have to see... "Come along now!" Alvashar said, a little too snappy for Arya's taste, but she followed. Leithan shook, his scales sending off a rainbow of color. Arya decided to walk. Besides her legs needed a stretch.
Sive finally cut off. Andlarta was there as soon as he stood up. "You heard what he said. We have the advantage, though. They don't know about you..." Sive said. He jumped and nimbly landed on Andlarta's back even as she jumped into the air. Sive drew his sword. It was black with a ruby in the hilt. It was a rider's sword, actually the sister sword to Zaroc, which meant misery. His meant suffering. He gave it a quick twril before putting it away in his sheath. It was high time he created some suffering. It would be fufilling nurishment. He laughed. It was bitter, cruel and cold. Andlarta gave a great roar with him. For miles all birds and beats fled and hid. Together, they were a true evil.

Terek gaped, he lay down on the cold stone." No falling star." He whispered. Aura, annoyed by Terek's laziness, stood up. She grabbed Terek by his coat with her teeth and threw him on her back. If he wasn't used to such treatment, he would be suprised. But he and Aura always had these strange ways of treating each other. We're going! Aura snapped. I sense something like a rider, no rider, but almost. Terek rose his shoulders." I sense nothing." He said, not really in contact with his dragon." So, we're going!" He said, happy, smiling. Aura walked forward, until her smaller front legs stood just on the edge. Then she jumped, holding her body like an arrow, not yet ready to open her wings and fly away. Terek yelled at her, but she was only teasing him. She opened her wings, flying up. The battlefront was only a few kilometres away, they would be there in no time.

There was a gust of wind... A tail wind quickly sped up their flight and they saw the glimmer of scales as the full moon bounced off Leithan's scales. We are here sooner then we did expect... They know we are comming too but they seem to believe us as someone different... We should land and walk in on foot. Horrion suggested. No... I see Alvashar he will know when we get close... Hailut said back. I just hope that your scales do not make them think of Thorn... It was true that Horrion's scales were a dark red... Much darker then that of Thorn almost brown but they still gleamed red. Horrion let loose a stream of fire in the sky and immediately there was commotion on the ground. The ballista towers quickly were prepared for them. I think they do believe I am Thorn... And my size does not help... But I can evade those ballistae. Horrion dove quick as one flew over his head. I will try to land us within the courtyard. If it comes down to it you need to jump off and show them we are not who they think... Horrion quickly ascended to evade the volly of arrows. Hailut nodded and then stretched out his mind to Alvashar. But the barriers were too strong and quickly he receeded. There is no one I can contact there... They all would not believe an old rider returned anyways... Horrion dove quickly to the ground and flew to a thousand feet and soared over the camp. It was too high for Hailut to jump without death... Horrion circled and dodged several volleys of arrows with minimal injury. The moon glinted off their scales making it seem the color of Thorns... No help to their advantage though there was only about one difference. The sheer size of Horrion was about ten feet larger then Thorn. Hailut got off the saddle and quickly walked alone the spine of Horrion and griped the large spikes for balance as he tried to get to the tail. Horrion turned hard fight and evaded a tower. Jump next time I am this close to one... I need to get out of- A large ballista shot through the side of his wing and he let lose a loud roar and a stream of fire. Though he was careful to harmlessly dispose of the fire to the sky. Hailut said a quick word and healed the gap then kept moving through the dragon til he was just on the edge of the tail. He waited gripping tightly and maneuvering with Horrion They acted like one with their minds blened to one another. Horrion flew around the camp trying desperately to evade the incomming Ballista and Arrows. Several began to hit as he tried more desperately to get Hailut towards the ground or tower. Soon there were many mental attacks and magical the same attacking...
Alvashar looked to the sky and then shouted. He looked up. "It is Thorn... He must of caught up some speed we did not expect him here... Quickly you must get to the sky!" Alvashar said a quick few wards around him.

Leithan growled. Arya jumped up on Leithan. As they flew up into the air, Arya connected to Alvashar through the mind. "Just to let you know, it's not Thorn. It was another rider. They said they were against the Empire, but I wasn't so sure. This confirms it." Arya drew her sword. Leithan growled. So they were against the Empire all this time... I guess so. Arya told Leithan. Alvashar, I forgot, the rider's name was Hailut and Horrion...
Sive and Andlarta made quick time. Sive saw Aura. "Want to have some fun before we join the fray?" he asked. Sure, fun! Andlarta purred with a gleam in her eye. She gave a peircing screech which seemed to slit Sive's ears. Let me know when you're going to do that. I can't hear anything now! Thanks you very much! Sive snapped. Shaking his head, he put a ward over his ears. Now, that won't effect me. That could do very well. You don't breath fire, do you? No. But I my bite is posinous. Like a snake, I guess. I'm venomous...
