This is the future, a long way in the future.
Note: these are all ideas mostly taken from these books: Uglies Trilogy (Uglies, Pretties, Specials), The Bar Code Tattoo, (I’m not exactly sure on title: Chip).
There’s this place you go this place that gives you a mark. This marking is a black Celtic-looking circle, with many different designs, but the same size just about. It is ‘burned’ (unpainfully) with a laser into the upper part of a persons’ shoulder, ankle or wrist. Those are the places it goes.
This new thing goes sweeping across the place- the biggest fad ever; soon everyone wants to get one. Crowds line up, both teens and adults line up to wait for their turn. But it quickly turn from fun to done. It was the largest fad ever, but also the shortest-lived one too. After three days, everyone stops getting them. But then suddenly the government comes out with a law, that all people must get this tattoo at the age of 15. So all who haven’t gotten them are required to get them now. Almost like a label. They tell you who your are, what group you’re in and more. They can be taken off, but only by strict regulations and by special complicated machinery. Usually this is used only to change someone’s mark.
It’s up to us to find out what’s so important about these tattoos and fast, because people are changing, both physically and mentally… You can be someone who is rebelling the mark, someone who gets the mark… you choose, but balance out.
Short list of Rules:
-We live in ‘cities’ (like in the Uglies Trilogy)
-There’s going to be slang words kinda, most taken from (Uglies Trilogy)
- There is a thing like ‘flats’ or flatboards. They’re a type of disk that flys (kinda like the hoverboards in the Uglies Trilogy- there’s tuff to go along with it, so follow my example)
- It’s the high-teq-future. Below are some devices that are regularly used:
> flats or flatboards
> toothpaste pill (instead of brushing your teeth)
> iP (like an iPod, but it fits into your ear with no attachments (so tiny) and even better it picks up the signals from the City to play radio and has the liberaery of all songs ever officially made. All you have to do is think and it plays…)
> Bin- a quick washer/dryer for clothes, also clothes garbage, recycler
That’s all for now, I’ll add more if I think I need to…Oh, here's an idea of what the marks look like: (see all)
